Nessalk Industries
A one-person software studio by Mathias Klassen. The flagship is Graphite OS: a simple but powerful Linux that is yours, customizable, and personal.
I'm Mathias Klassen. I work as a CNC machinist and build software on the side under Nessalk Industries.
Machining teaches you to care about tolerances, good tooling, and setups you can trust. I bring the same habits to software: build it properly, keep it understandable, and don't ship things that get in your way.
Nessalk Industries is the name I put on that work. Right now that mostly means Graphite OS, the Linux setup I wanted for myself: Arch underneath, set up my way, and easy to change.
A simple but powerful Linux that is yours, customizable, and personal.
Graphite OS is my own Arch Linux distribution with Hyprland, ready for gaming and programming from the first boot. It ships with snapshots and rollback, disk encryption, and a set of themes, so you get a finished desktop without giving up what makes Arch good.
Every update takes a snapshot first. If something breaks, roll back and keep working.
Hyprland, audio, networking, fonts, and sane defaults are configured before you log in.
pacman, the AUR, the Arch Wiki. Nothing proprietary in the way, no forked package base.
Updates don't overwrite your dotfiles. Change anything; it stays changed.
Drivers, Steam-friendly setup, and developer tooling in place so you can get to work or play.
System, packages, and Graphite's own pieces updated in one step.
Planned: agents running on a local Qwen model, with an optional cloud tier for people who want it.
Full-disk encryption available at install, without hand-editing hooks.
Switch the look of the whole desktop at once, then tweak it however you like.
The first alpha is out. Expect rough edges, and please report what you find on GitHub.
No dates. It gets done when it gets done.
Most people who want Arch don't want to spend a weekend configuring it first. Graphite skips that part without hiding anything.
Defaults that work, with the full system still underneath when you want it.
It's your machine. Your configs, your choices, no accounts required.
Chosen because they work day to day, not because they look good in a screenshot.
Open source, honest status, and no promised dates I can't keep.
Fewer things, done well, with you in control. Quality over shipping volume.
Arch Linux with Hyprland, set up and ready, with undoable updates and configs that stay yours.
Other tools will show up here when they're worth using. Same rules: already set up, fully yours, easy to change.
People who want capable software that respects them: a Linux desktop that's ready to use, that they fully control, and that they can change without fighting it.
It's still plain Arch. Same repositories, pacman, AUR, and Arch Wiki. Graphite adds a finished Hyprland setup, snapshots and rollback, encryption, themes, and one-command updates on top.
Honestly: it's a one-person studio. Nessalk Industries is my personal side project, built alongside a full-time machining job, that I'm growing into an umbrella for the software I make.

Yes, eventually. No dates. It gets done when it gets done.
